Step 1...
To the left is an install guide briefly covering the application of our light protection film onto a
Bmw e36 fog light. You may click any of the images to view larger ones.
Items listed below will help with the install.
Fitment can be done in situ if you prefer, although having the lights removed may yield better results. Use a spray bottle to mix a very weak solution of water / washing up liquid, Use a clean cloth and thoroughly clean the lights that you have removed from the vehicle.
Completely dry the light(s) and wipe clean and dry using a quality microfibre cloth, a quality microfibre cloth is anti-static so will provide a dust free install.
Step 2...
Peel back the film and apply it centrally over the light taking curves and
corners into account.
The film would normally be applied only to the face of the lights but some prefer to
stretch around the corners/edges.
With the film laid on surface of the light, you can now use the supplied squeegee working your way from central points.
You can lift/re lay the film several times during this stage while still using the squeegee. If you struggle to remove smaller bubbles, do not worry as the film is breathable. These bubbles will disappear after a short time within reason. Obviously overly large bubbles will take some time and may need a pin prick at a later stage.
Step 3...
At this stage you may either
heat a little at a time, pull and stretch the film around corners,
and then trim carefully.
OR
You may simply run the knife around the face of the glass so the film only
covers the main surface area.
Either way you will now have the near finished result. All that remains is for the completed light to carefully be re-fitted to the vehicle.
Once re-fitted, the vehicle should not be washed for 24-48 hours. The film will/can continue to cure and bond for up to two weeks depending on your climate. In this curing period some misting and small bubbling may occur, this is normal and will clear as any moisture/bubbles dissipate.
